KINGSPORT — The Junior League of Kingsport will hold a gingerbread house decorating fundraiser Nov. 29 from 1-8 p.m. at the Model City Event Center downtown.

The fundraiser, called Jingle and Gingerbread, will feature freshly baked gingerbread house kits from Patty Cakes by Patsy including four walls, two roof pieces, a gingerbread man, a base for assembly, two bags of icing and many decorations to choose from.

In addition, people can have their picture taken with Santa, explore a craft market full of handmade items and enjoy delicious snacks including a hot chocolate bar. Tickets for this family-friendly fundraiser can be purchased online with Ticket Tailor at http://buytickets.at/juniorleagueofkingsport/209749.

If unable to attend the event, people are welcome to order a gingerbread house kit and pick it up to decorate at home on their own schedule. Due to the fresh baked nature of the gingerbread house kits, they must be reserved by Nov. 15 online through Ticket Tailor.

The Junior League of Kingsport is unable to guarantee availability at the door. Admission is $5 and children 12 and under get in free.

Each gingerbread house kit is $15, and photos with Santa, provided by Blueleven Photography, are $10 for a digital copy and $15 for both a digital copy and a print.

“This is a new event for the Junior League of Kingsport, and we are very excited to host it downtown during the holiday season,” said Ashley Cooper, president of the Junior League of Kingsport. “We also wanted our event to have a community impact, and so we are donating gingerbread house decorating experiences to Girls Inc. of Kingsport. It’s our hope that these future female leaders will enjoy the event along with us.”

Each year the Junior League of Kingsport provides a scholarship to a young woman beginning college, awards grants to other nonprofits for projects relating to women and children, keeps a closet full of personal hygiene items for local women and children in need, and provides Easter baskets to the children of Holston Home. These projects are just the beginning of the Junior League of Kingsport’s community support and you can help further its mission by participating in Jingle and Gingerbread.

The Junior League of Kingsport would like to thank the following signature sponsors of the inaugural Jingle and Gingerbread event: D&D Printing, Deborah Carson with Rodan and Fields, Eastman Credit Union, Fun Fest, FTB Advisors, Himelwright Dentistry, Lisa and Steve Lohoff with Town and Country Realty, Mary Glenn W. Lively with Southern Dwellings, Rainbow’s End Floral, Seaver’s Bakery, Stu Fisher with Edward Jones, Watauga Insurance, Inc. and XCellerated Fitness.
